ERAIFT, a category II center under the auspices of UNESCO, and IFA-Yangambi have actively contributed to the study analyzing the cassava value chain in the Democratic Republic of Congo, funded by the European Union (VCA4D CTR 2017/392-417). This study, led by Professor Baudouin MICHEL, Director of ERAIFT and Rector of IFA-Yangambi, and carried out with the collaboration of six experts, aims to provide evidence on the contribution of this value chain to the national economy while assessing its sustainability and inclusiveness. The study addresses the following questions: What is the value chain's contribution to economic growth? Is this growth inclusive? Is the cassava value chain socially and environmentally sustainable?
The analysis results, covering functional, economic, social, and environmental aspects, will serve as decision-making tools for the various stakeholders involved in the value chain (donors, technical and financial partners, government, producers, cassava processors, and other potential investors). ERAIFT and IFA-Yangambi strongly encourage stakeholders to use this study's results, available on VCA4D Cassava Democratic Republic of Congo | Capacity4dev.
ERAIFT and IFA-Yangambi thank the European Union for its financial support and renewed confidence, as well as all the experts and stakeholders who contributed to this study.
