ERAIFT Director Professor Baudouin Michel participated in the “From Plants to People—Botanical expertise for a sustainable future in Central Africa” forum, which the Meise Botanical Garden organized from May 7 to 8, 2025.
This event brings together several key players involved in biodiversity preservation and sustainable development in Central Africa. Participants include the Director General of ICCN, the Director General of INERA, and a representative of the European Union Delegation in Kinshasa.
Discussions focused on major themes: sustainable management of natural resources, resilience in the face of climate change, the landscape approach in environmental policies, value chain development, and the conservation of coffee genetic resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
ERAIFT thanks the Botanical Garden of Meise for its invitation and the European Union for its ongoing support. Finally, ERAIFT warmly thanks all the participants for the rich exchanges.
